Meet Melody Moss



Melody Moss is an actor, chorographer and producer. She is known for her versatile portrayal of characters, for her creative vision in dance and for her production integrity.

Melody has had the opportunity to play hundreds of diversified roles, for stage, television and film. Her formal training in dance and drama led her to regional and national productions, as well as touring on Broadway and Off-Broadway.  Her tenure in the theatre included a three-year run with Whatever Happened to Black Love? and Before Time Runs Out, with Thomas Meloncon. Some of her film credits include,  The Darq, Empress of Texas, 7 Kilos, and The Preacher’s Daughter.

In 2003, along with the Heartbeat dance company from SSQQ dance studio, they won UCWDC - World Country Dance Championships in Nashville.

After over twenty-five years as a dance/drama instruction in Houston, Melody retired from teaching to focus more on the production side of film.

Melody, along with Yankie Grant formed RUSTY YANKIE PRODUCTIONS in 2006. This year, the production company is currently working on several projects, which include post-production of a feature film, TV pilot and pre-production on others in development. Along with Melrose Fougere, the team co-wrote, acted and produced the feature film, DIVORCE TEXAS STYLE coming out in 2013.

Coming up in the business, Melody has worked behind the scenes as a choreographer, location scout, casting director, script supervisor, production coordinator and as a producer. She has work as the production accountant for MGM, the assistant to the director for New Line Cinema and as an associate producer for United Paramount Network. One of Melody’s projects, an independent feature film Cook County won the 2008 Hollywood Film Festival’s “Best Feature Film.”

Melody, also spends time working with the Speakers Committee for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo on the line dance team’Demin & Diamonds’ and as ‘Purpletini’ the clown.

Ms. Moss is the Founding President of the Women in Film & Television/Houston, an international organization and is currently serving on the Board of Directors.
